Hi, fellow team-mates!
You have no idea how excited it makes me that we are all starting to get to know each other!
(Well... Actually, you probably do, because I bet you are just as excited as I am!)
So... Hi! I'm Robyn. :)
I'm 19 years old (I turn 20 the day we come back from Israel!) and I live in Howard County, Maryland. (Chelsea, we should totally meet up!) I am currently attending a community college here, but I will be graduating in May with an associates degree in general studies and then transferring to a 4-year in the Fall, but I don't really know where yet. I am very interested in communications and journalism, as well as theater studies. All I know is that I love to write and tell people's stories, and I want to use that to impact the world somehow...
I'm also very involved with my local church and I work in the middle school ministry, particularly leading 7th grade girls.
But on to Israel!
Wow, I am just so grateful that God opened up this door for me. I have been going on small week to two-week misisons trips each summer with my local church here, but that was with the high school ministry. Now that I am out of high school, I still wanted to do missions but I wasn't sure where to turn.... One of my high school leaders did AIM's World Race, and she suggested that I check out AIM's other trips because she thought I would really like it. Well, when I searched through Real Life, the first trip I found was Israel, and it was as if God was just saying, "Here it is, you should go."
I had been wanting to go to Israel for some time, but I just always assumed it would be a trip I would take further down the road. I never thought I would be able to do it now and as a missions trip. It's all so exciting!
I LOVE culture. God has been increasing my passion for Israel like crazy over the past few months as I research and learn more and more and more about the people we are going to be serving. I apologize if I start spewing historical facts or references... it's just something I love about our world. :) I love learning the context of the places God sends us - and Israel has such Biblical history that it just blows my mind to think about it all.
Our God is really cool :) And I can't wait to serve Him with all of you in Israel! I am praying for each of you.
